Lindy Hop in Toronto

Toronto has a proud and long established Lindy Hop community. This includes Toronto Lindy Hop, a registered Non-Profit Organization dedicated to the progression and preservation of Lindy Hop and swing dancing in Toronto.  Our scene is dedicated to building a friendly, vibrant and fun social Lindy Hop community. We want everyone, from enthusiastic beginners to experienced dancers, to feel welcomed and empowered to be a part of it all!

Toronto had close ties and a lot of love for Frankie Manning. We had the pleasure of hosting Frankie for 4 workshops, and we’ve been holding an annual fundraiser since he passed away. We feel that it’s not only important to raise money for the Frankie Manning Foundation but also to keep Frankie’s memory and spirit alive and fresh. Many new dancers won’t have had a chance to meet Frankie in person, so it’s the responsibility of everyone who knew him to share the joy that he brought to us.

Toronto has run a single night version of this event the past 3 years. This year will be our 4thversion of the fundraiser, now expanded to an entire weekend of festivities.

Our one night 2012 raised over $5000, and 2011 raised over $3500… in total Toronto has raised over $15,000 for the Frankie Manning Foundation. Amazing!
